Parrots Go Missing in Bricksville

BRICKSVILLE, CA MARCH 23 2002 – Police have reported that they have cracked the case of the missing parrots here in Bricksville. First parrots from the brand new BreezeWay Cafe disappeared, than other parrots started disappearing from around town. Parrots have always been a special part of Bricksville, so many residents have been upset over these mysterious disappearances.

This reporter talked to the Breakins family, one of the latest families to have a missing parrot. John Hawkings Breakins said that the parrot had flown away before but had always come back until this last time. “We really miss him or maybe it’s a her, it can be hard to tell with parrots. Anyway, we really miss the little guy and my sister has been crying a lot because she misses him so much.”

Police have now solved the case of the missing parrots and closed down a hidden black market that existed on Opus Avenue. This reporter was allowed to go along and get a picture of the black market in operation. Live parrots sold for $40.00, dead parrots for $6.00, along with other items that had been obtained through illegal means.

It seems that many other towns envied Bricksville their fine parrots and were prepared to pay a pretty penny to own one. The parrots which were sold dead had died as a result of the poor care when the thief had been unable to take care of them adequately. It is suspected that the dead parrot’s feathers were used to make cat toys, but this rumor hasn’t been substantiated yet.

The Breakins family was one of the fortunate few who got their parrot alive and in fairly good health, just minus a few feathers taken by mistake when the bird hadn’t moved for a long time while being displayed.

There is a suspect in the case, John Eroy, who has been accused of parrot theft and parrot cruelty for his part in the crime. His face has been blurred in the photos due to his lawyer’s request that this would prejudice any jury that might be called in his trial. There is a warrant currently out for his arrest since he was able to escape in his car and it is rumored that he is in El Rune now.
