- Edward Turner – English Chief and head of the Classic Space Corporation. Named after painter J. M. W. Turner (1775-1851).
- Dr. William Peter Watterson – Doctor, born in Maryland, former crew member of the Challenger. He was named after cartoonist Bill Watterson (1958-), creator of the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes (1985-1995).

John Edmund Burke – Admiral of the Challenger, father of Edward J. Burke, born on 24 November 2388 AD in Baltimore, Maryland.
Lauren Perske Harald Burke– Assistant to the Challenger, Mother of Edward Burke, Sister of Rebecca Sophia Harald, Wife of John Burke – Born 5 December 2402 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
- Arthur Lovell – Commander of the Challenger, former Air Force staff Sargent, born on AD 2428/03/25 in Cleveland, Ohio. Named after American astronaut Jim Lovell (1928-2025) who flew on Gemini 7 and 12, and Apollo 8 and 13.

- Frederick Avery – Commander of the Discovery, born on 2428/02/26 in Round Rock, Texas. Named after American animator Tex Avery (1908-1980) who was best known for creating cartoon characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and Elmer Fudd for Warner Bros, and Droopy, and Screwy Squirrel for MGM.
